The EH&S Assistant offers some excellent capabilities for the EH&S Department or Lab to create their own door placards. These can be created via hazard questionnaires, data within the applications, or through manual image selection. It's as simple as selecting the images that reflect the type of research and/or work being accomplished within the specific location. In addition, emergency contact information is pulled directly from the emergency contact information stored in the location file. All that is required is that this information is kept up-to-date, and there are many means for EH&S or the supervisor/P.I. to manage the emergency contact information. The example below was completely populated from the data stored within different EH&S applications.
There are facilities that require the P.I. or Lab Manager to supervise the creation of the placard for each lab/room under their supervision. EH&S possesses a web application that gives this option to the manager of the lab/room. It's as simple as picking an image from a drop down menu. In addition, they can update the emergency contact information. A nice benefit of this option is that the EH&S inspector can verify and update the placard at the time of inspection.
