Using the new capabilities of the EH&S web applications, Radiation Safety can document wipe locations, inspect the locations for deficiencies or areas of concern, and link directly to the survey record LSC wipe results. In addition, this new feature allows for the pinpointing of wipe results that are above acceptable levels or are not satisfactory. The user determines the level that best fits their facility. Results can also be entered in either cpm or dpm or have the system calculate the results in dpm. Action levels are logged in your own organization table thus you identify what level will require a re-wipe or clean up. A wipe location will turn red if the results exceed your pre-determined organizational limit. This signifies that some action is required to rectify the area or areas of concern.
An electronic report is created with the results of the contamination survey. This report can be forwarded to the responsible lab owner and/or PI for his or her review. The following image is an example of a lab that has 8 wipe locations entered:

Radiation Safety will also indicate the results along with the approval process. In addition to sending the report to the responsible individual, a copy can be electronically linked to the lab/room to meet compliance requirements.
